Port Hardy Fire Rescue held its open house at the Storey’s Beach Fire Hall on Saturday, Oct. 14, and it was a smashing success for the volunteer fire department thanks to a large crowd of residents coming through to visit and enjoy a barbecue lunch, try on fire gear, and really just learn more about what it’s like to be a fire fighter on the North Island. See next week’s Gazette for more on the open house and Port Hardy Fire Rescue’s recruitment drive.
