Duke Point ferry terminal will be closed for one weekend this month, but travellers will still be able to get to and from Tsawwassen on those days.

According to B.C. Ferries press release, the Duke Point terminal will be shut down Jan. 26-27 for replacement of the vehicle ramp.

Sailings to and from Tsawwassen on those days will leave from and arrive at Departure Bay terminal with a modified schedule. On Jan. 26, sailings in both directions on that route will leave at 6:50 a.m., 9:20 a.m., 11:50 a.m., 2:20 p.m., 4:50 p.m. and 7:20 p.m. On Jan. 27, sailings leave at 9:20 a.m., 11:50 a.m., 2:20 p.m., 4:50 p.m., 7:20 p.m. and 9:50 p.m.

“Every effort is being made to minimize the impact on travel,” noted the press release. “B.C. Ferries chose the dates for this temporary closure based on dates that are traditionally some of the least busy travel days of the entire year.”

The ferry corp said the vehicle ramp and apron have been in place since the Duke Point terminal opened in 1997.
