The death of Betty Cortes, wife of the late Roy Cortes of Port Hardy, BC and formerly of Derby, NB, occurred suddenly on Sunday, March 29, 2015 in Port Hardy at the age of 82. Born November 4, 1932 in Blackriver, NB.
She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Hannah MacDonald. Betty is survived by two sons: Calvin (Lisa) Glenn (Lisa) of Vancouver, BC, two daughters: Daphne Cortes of Langley BC, Donna Russell (Bruce) of Williamstown, NB. One sister, Helen Somers (Bubrow) of Blackriver, 12 grand children: Jennifer, Amy, Heather, Lezlie, Jenna, Kristopher, Kirissa, Rachel, Crystal, Justin, Kyla & Mallory. 9 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Betty is predeceased by: husband Roy, her sister Dot MacDonald and brother Allison MacDonald.
A service was held at Port Hardy Seniors’ Centre on Saturday, April 4, 2015 and a committal service was held Easter Sunday as per Betty’s wishes.
In lieu of flowers, donations were made to Port Hardy Seniors’ Centre.
