Dennis was born in Vancouver in 1950. A young entrepreneur, he excelled in school, joined Toastmasters and by his early 20s became President of the Automotive Assoc. of Vancouver, and owner of a garage where he started the first Fleet Management Services for taxis, R.C.M.P, and municipal vehicles.

After moving to Vancouver Island he discovered he loved running excavators and never looked back. With the skills of being one of the best road-builders in B.C., Dennis naturally became an award-winning Watershed Restoration Specialist: repairing previous logging road-building damage, creating fish and other wildlife habitat, golf-courses, R.V. Parks, blueberry farms, vineyards and many other interesting projects.

A hard-working honest loyal man, he was passionate about everything he did, had a huge heart, and always willing to teach and help others.

After a short battle with cancer at age 66, he bravely left this world to join his parents John and Elizabeth. He leaves behind: a highly revered brother Bob, a handsome son John, 2 beautiful intelligent daughters Nicole & Stacey, 3 much-loved step-kids Marny Steven & Wayne, soul-mate/best friend Shirley, Grandsons Chris Trevor Nicholas Trenton Avery Brayden and many friends of mutual admiration.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Courtenay, Saturday, Sept. 24 in the Best Western Hotel & Conference Centre, 1590 Cliffe Ave, Courtenay B.C. at 1:00pm.
