It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Sister, Aunt and friend Harriett. Born to the late and great Buster and Claudia Cadwallader of Port Hardy B.C. Sister to Joan (Bud Bowyer) Aunt to Tiare (Gino Nonni) and Tracy (Pete Law) and Great Aunt to Michael, Chiara, Christian, Chase and Skyler and “Mom” to numerous animals over the years. To say she has gone to the dogs is not a bad thing in our eyes. Harriett spent many years in the dog world and became an accomplished breeder, trainer and shower of many great dogs, who really were her pride and joy. She found great solace in her dogs and in her final companion, Rupert, who shared her life with her until the end. We are comforted by the fact that she has gone to be with them all, and to be with her best friend, cousin and soul sister, Lynne (Cadwallader). As well as working in Port Hardy for numerous years she was also the Director of the Port Hardy Museum and dedicated her time to making sure the history of the community was preserved. Always marching to the beat of her own drum, she had her many opinions and points of view on a great many subjects, and loved a good debate to prove she was right. The family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses at Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria for taking such good care of Harriett in the last few weeks. A Celebration of Harriett’s life will be announced at a later date and in lieu of flowers, donations to the Port Hardy Museum would be greatly appreciated.
