December 3, 1927 – January 15, 2017
After a long life that involved teaching around the province, working in the garden and being a mother and grandmother, Renie has moved on to her next adventure.
Renie was born in Alert Bay on December 3, 1927 to Florence and John Melan of Port Hardy, B.C. She was predeceased by her husband John Clayton in 2008. Survived by her brother Les Melan; daughters Rosalind, Jill, Marigold, and Holly and stepdaughter Darlene and stepson Howard. Also remembered by 13 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mom was a hard worker and she always kept current with local and world events. She kept active with church, knitting and the Vancouver Sun and its daily crosswords.
A family remembrance will be held at a later date.
