Jean Bennett (Railton)

May 29, 2017

Feb 27, 1939 – May 29, 2017

Born in Stanley, Co Durham, England and having lived in England, South Africa, and Scotland, passed in Port Hardy Hospital peacefully after a brief and dignified struggle with cancer.

A long time resident of Port Hardy for 40 years, our Mam touched and enriched more lives than she would ever know and realise.

As a lunch time supervisor at Robert Scott to working at the North Island Crisis Centre, singing in the Tsusquana Singers Choir and acting as the Treasurer for the Port Hardy Hospital Auxiliary she has left her mark on the town of Port Hardy.

Survived by her sister Margaret Leighton and her husband Robin and family, her son David and his wife Maria and grandchildren Jacob, Daley and Isabella and her daughter Sarie.

The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at the Port Hardy Hospital, Dr. H. Lee, Chandra Willms, the paramedics of station 126, and all her friends.

At the request of our Mam there will be no service or celebration of life. The family requests that in lieu of flowers that donations be made in her name to the Port Hardy Hospital Auxiliary or the Canadian Cancer Society.
