John Daniel “Dan” Murgatroyd
June 3, 1945 to March 6, 2016
Dan passed away peacefully on the evening of March 6, 2016 surrounded by his family after a short, hard fought battle with cancer.
Dan is survived by his wife of almost 46 years,
Bonnie, his children Leighann (Real) Ruel, John Jr. (Annetta) Murgatroyd, Joseph (Darlene) Murgatroyd and his grandchildren Mykel, Stevyn, Whitney, Darian, Nyckolas, Lexie and MacKenzie.
Dan is also survived by his sisters Diane
(Wally) Henes, Judi (Don) McKenzie, Lue Crawford (David), his brother Myles (Mable) Murgatroyd and many nieces and nephews. Dan is predeceased by his parents Archie and Eliane Murgatroyd.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that a
donation be made to the palliative care room at the Port McNeill Hospital for the purchase of a new recliner. Thank you to all the staff, nurses and doctors who made his last days comfortable.
Open house in Dan’s memory to be held at 645 Nanaimo River Road, in Nanaimo, BC on April 16, 2016 at 2:00pm.
