Verla Corinne Nickerson, 69 passed away on August 21, 2016 at Port Hardy Hospital with family at her side.
Verla was born in Rossland, BC to the late Sybil and Gilbert Nyman. There she met and married Keith Nickerson and moved to Port Hardy. In 1964.
Verla worked at Seafood Products then as a home support worker. She was a longtime member of the Port Hardy Senior Citizen Society and the Port Hardy Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed aquafit with her friends, needlepoint, knitting, baking, scrapbooking, bingo, Yahtzee and card games.
She is predeceased by her brother Barry.
She is survived by her husband Keith, daughter Marinna, son Schell (Helen), granddaughter Chloe (Marlon), great grandchildren Bennett, Stellan, Rayne, Dante, Bryson, Abigail, Chrissy-lynn and her sisters Glenda and Shonna.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Port Hardy Hospital Auxiliary and the Port Hardy Senior Citizen Society.
There will a Celebration of Life on September 3, 2016 at the Port Hardy Senior Centre from 12 pm - 2 pm.
