Wayne Alfred Nickoli Lucas

(Wayne-O / O.B.)

April 20, 1943-January 21, 2012

It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dearly beloved Wayne Lucas on

January 21, 2012 in Port McNeill B.C.

Wayne was born in Vancouver, B.C. to Bill and Violet Lucas and grew up in Woss Camp until the age of 15. He joined the U.S. Army giving 3 years of his service and then lived briefly in California. Missing his sister Bonnie he moved to Nimpkish Camp in 1976 where he worked for Canadian Forest Products driving a Euclid. Wayne’s love for the North Island soon brought him to Port McNeill where he happily lived out the remainder of his life. Wayne enjoyed travelling, camping at Woss Lake, fishing, music, pool and woodworking. He wanted to sail and dreamed of building a sailboat one day. But, his greatest enjoyment was around the table playing cards with his friends.

Wayne was a kind and gentle man with a carefree spirit who always had a warm smile, a big generous heart and a twinkle in his eyes. He looked at life on the lighter side and always saw the good in others. The two things that were most important in life to Wayne were his family and his friends. Wayne always had two cups on his table.

Wayne will be forever missed by his loving family and the large circle of friends he embraced over the years in Port McNeill. Wayne was a dear brother to Bonnie Marsters (Fred) of Sayward. The proud uncle to nieces Debbie Marsters of Campbell River, Kelly Marsters of Port McNeill, Tracy Nasadyk (Ed) of Kamloops, Brenda Vissers (Jim) of Port Alberni and nephew, David Marsters of Campbell River. As well, Wayne was a great uncle to (4) nieces; Megan, Jaylene, Amanda and Danielle and (6) nephews; Nolan, Adam, Lance, Lucas, Brody and Lyle.

He was a great, great uncle to Olivia.

Thank you for being a part of our lives Wayne.

We will forever miss you.

We thought of you with love today, but that is nothing new.

We thought about you yesterday and days before that too,

We think of you in silence, we often speak your name.

All we have are memories and your picture in a frame.

Your memory is our keepsake with which we’ll never part,

God has you in His keeping we have you in our heart.

Thank you to all Wayne’s friends for helping

Wayne during his lifetime.

The family’s only request as we know Wayne would have wanted it, is to please do a good deed to one another.

A celebration of life will soon be announced.
