Grizzly Bear Update: The bears have been sighted at Sandyville here on Cormorant Island. Please do not approach the bears - allow them their space.
The Conservation Officer will be here in the morning, Saturday, asking people to please allow the bears their space and if you see the two bears, do not approach them and to please call 1-877-952-7277 to report where on the island the bears have been sighted.
We want to ensure community members safety as well as the safety of the bears. FYI, Sandyville is on the North side of Cormorant Island (Alert Bay) facing Mitchell Bay.
