Sunset Elementary and RCMP hosted a Bike Rodeo last week to educate students on roadway safety.
Approximately 250 kids attended, more than 100 bringing their own bikes and helmets to school, where they were able to apply their knowledge and skills first hand. They all had safety checks done on their bikes, compliments of the Shed Bike Shop. Their serial numbers were logged by RCMP and they took part in skill-testing questions and stations testing their cycling abilities.
Numerous community-minded PAC volunteers helped throughout the day by keeping the stations running smoothly.
Afterwards, participants received a healthy snack (donated by Marketplace IGA) and a prize.
