PORT HARDY—The staff at Port Hardy's Scotiabank branch has signed up for B.C.'s Bike to Work Week and is inviting other businesses and groups to take part the week of May 27-June 2.
Bike to Work Week is not a fundraiser. It is designed to encourage and promote the use of bicycles and other alternative modes of transportation to work, while highlighting the economic, environmental and health benefits.
To join in, visit www.biketowork.ca and have your team leader sign up. Each team member logs their kilometres travelled to work by bicycle, and there is a section to log the number of team members who used other means of transportation (ie. walking, carpooling etc.).
