Ryan Thompson of Nanaimo, left, was presented with a new road bike and helmet by 2011 Cops for Cancer Tour de Rock team member and Black Press reporter Chris Bush. Thompson is the winner of the Trek Tour de Rock Vancouver Island Contest, sponsored by Trek Bicycle Store of Victoria and Black Press. Thompson received a new Trek Madone 4.5 carbon frame road bike – the identical model used on the tour – a helmet and cycling shoes. The package is valued at about $2,600.
