The Port Alice Health Centre received a Bidop 3, Vascular Doppler, valued at $4090, which was donated by the Port Alice Health Forum, Royal Canadian Legion Branch 180, Bashaw Storage, and the Port Alice Thrift Shop.
It was presented to health centre nurses Silja Hitchen and Jennifer Jones at a general meeting of the Port Alice Health Forum on June 19.
A vascular doppler is a device used for the detection of arterial and venous blood flow in the extremities and for detecting fetal heart sounds. The laboratory at the health centre also received a donation of a fridge from the Port Alice Lions Club and North Island Waste Management.
