Market takes root

The North Island Farmer's Market prepares to kick off its 2013 season.

HYDE CREEK—Following on a successful 2012 season in a new location, the North Island Farmer's Market will kick off its 2013 season on June 22.

The market will be held in the grassy area adjacent to Hyde Creek Petro Canada, formerly Hyde Creek Esso, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Last year's markets featured home-grown produce, herbs, flowers and potted plants; home-baked goods, preserves, crafts, clothing, toys, jewelry and more. Organizers invite all North Island growers, bakers and crafters to join in.

Registration is $5 per table; to reserve your spot or for more info, email pmfarmersmarket@gmail.com or visit the North Island Farmer's Market page on Facebook.
