Hardy Bay Senior Citizens Society's Rosaline Glynn will be awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal.

"I felt very humbled but also honoured and happy to be receiving this award," said Glynn when asked to comment on being honoured with the medal, which was created by the Sovereign and administered by the Chancellery of Honours.

The medal marks the coronation of King Charles III, which took place on May 6, 2023, and eligible candidates must have been alive on that date and "made a significant contribution to Canada or to a particular province, territory, region or community of Canada, or have made an outstanding achievement abroad that brings credit to Canada," states the medal's website.

Glynn noted she was informed of the honour by a letter from North Island-Powell River MP Rachel Blaney, who confirmed Glynn was chosen following an extensive selection process.

"You were among the chosen recipients given your steadfast efforts, contributions and/or advocacy on behalf of a cause, organization and/or people within our community," stated Blaney in the letter. "Congratulations! I look forward to presenting this award to you and celebrating your accomplishment."

The presentation ceremony will be held Feb. 28 where Glynn will be awarded the medal.
