As a result of a nursing shortage, Port McNeill Hospital is operating today with limited health services, Vancouver Island Health Authority announced this afternoon.
The emergency room closed at 11:30 a.m. and will re-open tonight at 7:30.
Those with an emergency should call 911 or proceed to the Port Hardy Emergency Department.
Those unsure what services they need may call 8-1-1, a 24-hour, toll-free service that provides consultation with a registered nurse.
