Dispensing as much advice as it did seeds, the Port Alice Community Garden (PACG) put on a 'Seedy Saturday' event hosted by the Port Alice branch of the Vancouver Island Regional Library this past weekend.

Vicki Brayton, a veritable walking Wikipedia of horticultural knowledge, and Faerlyn Marzoff, president co-founder of PACG, shared with local residents a wide range of seeds and bulbs both for decorative plants and garden produce.

As the days lengthen, the event kicks off the 2025 growing season.

Marzoff, the inspiration behind Lady Faer [landscaping] Designs, will be making an appearance at Port McNeill's own Seedy Saturday event on April 6, manning the "Ask the gardener" table.

Marzoff is also president of the Port McNeill Community Garden, located at the A-Frame Church.
