Men will once again be dancing down the catwalk while wearing specially decorated bras this year at the annual Victor's Secret Fashion Show, which is returning to the Port McNeill Community Hall on Saturday, Jan. 25.
Victor's Secret organizer Cheryl Verbrugge said the theme of this year's fashion show is 'Day Of The Dead', which was thought up by committee member Leighann Ruel.
"She comes up with all the themes and makes the decorations," confirmed Verbrugge, who then added this is going to be the 12th year Victor's Secret will have been held.
The fashion show generally features 10 men who volunteer to dance and model the bras, and after the show, there's always a dance party.
The committee is currently in the midst of "recycling some our past bras," said Verbrugge, who noted next year they might go back to holding a community bra-making contest where people can go into various businesses and vote for their favourite creations. "We might start that up again in the summer," she added, and then noted if anyone is interested in being a model for the fashion show they can contact her at 250-956-4766.
The fashion show/dance is a big fundraiser for cancer patients who live Woss-north.
Over the years, Verbrugge and the committee have so far helped 125 people and donated to three different organizations. In total, they have given out $65,500 to North Island cancer patients who are in need of help with things like travel expenses and accommodations when they leave for treatments.
Tickets for the fashion show are on sale at the Dalewood Beer and Wine and Timberland Sports.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7:00 p.m. There will be a cash bar and no minors are allowed (19+).
