The North Island Concert Society is back at the Port Hardy Civic Centre with the Myrtle Sisters Revue on Dec. 7 at 7 p.m.
The Myrtle Sisters are a trio of east Vancouver performers delighting audiences of all ages with their harmonies, twinkling-tap numbers and family antics! Multi-award winning theatre artists Candice Roberts, Nayana Fielkov, and Kat Single-Dain, are a real life sisters trio from different parents. They have been charming their way into the hearts of folks for 10+ years touring with their shows across Western Canada. They’ve been showcasing a clowning, vaudeville and dance menagerie of musical calamity in a variety of venues, such as theatres, festivals and schools. Expect plenty of charm and shenanigans along with their original and historic songs and dances. The music stands on its own, but their onstage family antics, tap stylings and wild tunes are not to be missed.
For their Port Hardy concert, they are presenting The Myrtle Sisters Revue.
Can the Myrtle Sisters make it through a single music show without breaking up? Apparently not. Thankfully a slew of hilarious and wacky characters step up to save the day. Their manager, Auntie Gloria offers audience speed-dating and preposterous relationship advice. The Great Lambrusco wows with daring magic, while their stage hand, Larry, brings you to tears with his home-spun life hacks.
The Myrtle Sisters Revue is a high paced saucy vaudeville extravaganza. Expect original and historic songs ablaze with three part harmony, comedic acts, acrobatic dance numbers and a hot and swingin’ good time. Imagine Carol Burnett in tap shoes meets the Boswell Sisters on the Muppet show.
Tickets are available at Café Guide in Port Hardy, at Island Dawn’s in Port McNeill, and from Gail Neely in Port Alice. The concert is at 7 pm at the Civic Centre. For further information, please call 250-956-0452.
