Blackfish Sound, the legendary band that has captivated audiences for half a century, is thrilled to announce their highly anticipated 50-year reunion concert.

This landmark event will bring together the original members for one unforgettable night of music, nostalgia, and celebration. The concert is scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 5 in Sointula at the historic F.O. Hall, a venue chosen for its historical significance in the band’s past and ability to accommodate the anticipated large audience.

Fans from all over the North Island and B.C are invited to join this once-in-a-lifetime musical event.

The reunion concert will feature the original lineup of Blackfish Sound, including the following musicians:

John Lyon - Guitar, Vocals, Songwriter: Known for his soulful voice and masterful guitar playing, John has been the heart and soul of Blackfish Sound since its inception. His songwriting has produced some of the band's most loved songs.

Dana Barton - Electric Guitar, Mandolin: Dana's electrifying guitar solos and intricate mandolin work have been a cornerstone of the band's sound. His versatility and energy on stage are unmatched.

Kit Eakle - Violin: Kit's mesmerizing violin playing adds a unique and hauntingly beautiful dimension to the band's music. His contributions helped define the distinctive sound of Blackfish Sound.

The 50-year reunion concert promises to be a night filled with both classic hits and new surprises. The band will perform a carefully curated set list that spans their entire career, including timeless favourites and some new surprises.

In addition to the musical performances, the concert will be preceded by a special afternoon book signing and readings from the new book published by Caitlin Press, Gumboots In The Straits, which includes an article by Blackfish Sound violinist, Kit Eakle and other Sointula residents. There is promise of a special acoustic preview of the evening dance/concert at this event to take place at the Sointula Museum.
