Get ready for a mid-summer's eve of fantastic music and fun.

'Waxin' Melodic under a July Crescent Moon', an acoustically based ensemble, are all set to rock out at the Gate House Theatre in Port McNeill on Saturday, July 26.

Canadian award winning singer/songwriters, Sean Hogan, Sue Medley and Steve Mitchell will be heading up north later this month on the heels of two concerts celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Campbell River Food Bank.

Hogan, who lives in Campbell River, has been performing and scoring hit accolades such as CCMA's, SCMA's West Coast Music Awards, and even a Breakout Artist award in 2018 for being in the top 20 of highest earning new artist on Sirius XM Satellite Radio.

Medley first started playing with Hogan on his cross Canada Canadian Country Christmas concert he ran from 2004 to 2019.

Medley, a Juno award-winning number one hit scoring Island native, and Mitchell first met up playing some mid-island shows together earlier this year. Hogan and Mitchell have been friends for awhile and written together, while Mitchell himself has worked in Nashville for nearly two decades penning songs with writers there.

The affable fun vibe the trio brings is collaborative as an ensemble.

"We're a mix of roots-rock, folk, and yes, country for sure too," says Hogan. "We may be, to quote a Sue Medley hit, 'Living in Dangerous Times' and hunkering down for our nationhood's sake as of late, which makes us all the more up for celebrating with Canadian material we've written and had great success with, and we will pay homage to some legendary singer/songwriters of note as well."

Hogan added anyone who brings a food item for the food bank will get a free cd of his music, and it should be known the Gate House Theatre has the tickets on sale now.

Tickets are $30 in advance, $34 at the door.

Call 250-203-8739 for more info or go to Port McNeill's Gate House Theatre to get your tickets today.
