Expect delays with bridge repairs near Port McNeill

A bridge just north of the Zeballos turn-off on Highway 19 will be replaced, causing delays mid August.

Drivers heading north on Highway 19 near Port McNeill will experience delays as maintenance crews get underway replacing a bridge.

Mainroad North Island Contracting, which maintains the highway, released a notice about the highway construction beginning Aug. 15, which will take place two kilometres north of the Zeballos Juntion in Port McNeill.

While crews remove the Re-Load Underpass Bridge to conduct structural repairs, commuters can expect a one-hour delay. 

The maintenance work will continue until Aug. 30.
