Snowfall this morning in Port Hardy

Many North Islanders woke up to a blanket of white snow on Friday Morning.

This comes after Environment Canada predicted snowfall for parts of Vancouver Island earlier this week.

While no alerts are currently in effect, Environment Canada reports the Feb. 23 conditions in Port Hardy to be 1°C with snow mixed with rain ending in the morning then cloudy with a 70 per cent chance of rain showers. The local snowfall amount is reported to be five to 10 cm with a high plus five.

The evening forecast is reported to be windy with rain showers and wet flurries and a low of plus two.

For the weekend there is a 60 per cent change of showers for Saturday Feb. 24 with a high of 6°C and Sunday Feb. 25 it’s forecasted to rain with a high of 5°C.
