Despite some bad weather as of late, the rebuild of the Kyle Scow Memorial Skatepark in Port Hardy is currently well underway.

Radius Skateparks, based out of Comox, is in charge of the project, with the company previously stating it’s aiming to finish construction by the spring, depending on the weather.

The KSM Skatepark was originally built in 2003 thanks to a $20,000 donation from the Port Hardy Rotary Club that went towards the cement pad, a $20,000 grant from the Vancouver Foundation which went towards building the ramps, as well as numerous fundraisers from the now defunct Port Hardy Skateboard Club and other donations from local businesses to help cover any shortfalls.
