Falyn Lynch’s councillor candidate biography

I love this lifestyle that the North Island provides my family. Port McNeill offers clean air and water, safe streets, friendly neighbours, and world-class outdoor recreation. I’d like to see our town mirror what nature’s bounty has to offer.

For over 17 years, my family has owned and operated a local small-scale logging business. Like many of you, I understand the importance of the forestry industry to put food on the table, a roof over our heads, and to support our childrens’ extracurricular activities. I successfully balance many other roles: mother, partner, employee, volunteer, Director of Port McNeill Kids in Motion Society, chair of PAC fundraisers, etc.

It’s time for progress, fresh ideas, renewed energy, and ACTION! We need to attract new homebuyers and businesses, retain our existing residents no matter their age or needs, and tackle our current issues with sustainable solutions. Let’s do this by improving infrastructure, encouraging development, and marketing our town as a choice year-round destination for travelers. I believe the place to start is by building a Multiplex Recreation Facility creating a new downtown center, revitalizing the “heart” of Port McNeill.

On October 20th, please vote for me, Falyn Lynch, along with Matt Martin and Derek Koel for The Change We Need.
