Over 1,700 without power in Port Hardy

Over 1,700 customers were without power on Jan. 8, 2025.

Over 1,700 Port Hardy residents were without power, starting just after 10 a.m. on Jan. 8.

As of 10:30, there was no crew assigned to the outage. The power went out at 10:20 a.m. According to BC Hydro, the outage was caused by a bird contacting the wires, and the power eventually came back on a little after 11 a.m.

The outage covered the area east of Duval Road, to north of Holberg Road.
