The Victoria Police Department (VicPD) is asking the public for assistance in its search for Hugh Garlow – a 70-year-old serving a life sentence for second-degree murder, manslaughter, attempted murder, fraud, assault and other convictions.

The man is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant after failing to abide by the conditions of his release from prison. VicPD believes Garlow is in Victoria, adding that he has been known to frequent James Bay and the downtown core. 

Garlow is 5'9'', with black hair, brown eyes, a medium complexion and a medium build. Last seen wearing a burgundy hat, green jacket, dark-blue T-shirt and navy-blue pants, he has a bend in one of his legs and walks with a limp.

VicPD is asking anyone who sees Garlow to call 911. Those with information about his whereabouts should call the VicPD Report Desk at 250-995-7654, extension 1. To make a report anonymously, call Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
