October 30, 1935 - June 5, 2021
Alena was born in Prague, Czechoslovakia and came to Dauphin, Manitoba in 1970 to reunite with her soul mate Jan Jedlicka. They married the same year and started their new wonderful life together in Canada. In the early seventies they moved to Port Hardy, Jan worked at Island Copper and Alena worked at Port Hardy Building Supply, then later at Dave Landon Motors.
She became a Canadian Citizen in 1979 and was the proudest Canadian I have ever met.
Jan passed in 2001 and a big piece of Alena went with him, it gives me peace to know that they are together again.
She is survived by two sisters, Jaroslava Harsova "Kajka" and Irena Buriankova with her son Karel "Kay" and grandsons Matej and Jan. Son Peter, Daughter Irena Paquier and granddaughter Sarah.
You will be forever missed my friend but never forgotten.
Sincere thanks to all the staff of the Port Hardy Hospital.
