Smart - David Ross passed away suddenly in beautiful Port Hardy, B.C. on February 25, 2004. Dave was born in Saskatchewan on August 24, 1935 and grew up in Victoria, B.C. His military service took him and his family across Canada and around the world -making friends everywhere they lived. Twenty-eight years ago he brought his family to Port Hardy and was proud to call it his home. Dave is pre-deceased by his mother, Bertha, and his brother Bob; and is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife and soul-mate Lisa; his loving children - Nancy (Frank) Giesbrecht of Williams Lake, B.C.; Mike (Sherri) Smart of Mission B.C.; Alan (Janette) of Maple Ridge, B.C.; Susan (Tony) Kinley of Port Hardy, BC.; and his precious grandchildren - Kelly-Ann and Warren Giesbrecht, Nikki, Amber, Evan and Gareth Smart, Rheann and Dustin Smart, and Cole and Jamie-Lea Kinley, and darling great-grand daughter Elisa Giesbrecht; beloved sisters and brothers - Vivian and Nita, Alex, Ernie (Pat) and Ronnie and their families; along with sister-in-law Agnes (Stan) and their family; finally all his dear friends, extended family, and all the neighborhood children who called him Bunka. A celebration of Dave’s life will take place Wednesday, March 3, 2004 at 2 pm in the afternoon, at the Civic Centre Columbia Street, Port Hardy, B.C. Refreshment and Fellowship to follow.
