passed away suddenly and peacefully at his home in Port Hardy, BC, on August 8, 2006. Don was born Sept. 8, 1951 in The Pas, Manitoba to Frank & Lillian Smith (Smyrichinsky). Don was predeceased by his parents and brother Danny Smyrichinsky, who died in December, 2005.
Don was much loved and will be sadly missed by his brother John Smith (wife Claudette), sister Shelley Sinclair (husband Jim Noakes), sister Cindy Tkachuk and sister Kelley (husband Greg Geisler); nieces and nephews: Natasha, Derek, Sean, Darryl, Jessica, Grayson, Tanya, Sherrie, Megan and Markus; and close family friends Alice, Emma and Leisha Myers.
A Celebration of Don’s Life took place at the Brighton Curling Centre, Port McNeill, BC on Saturday, August 19, 2006. Cremation has taken place and interment was at the Memorial Gardens, Port Hardy, BC.
