May 11, 2018
It is with great sadness and very heavy hearts that our family announces the sudden passing of our beloved Edwin Douglas Williams at home in Alert Bay on May 11, 2018 at the age of 55.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents Robert and Maxine Williams, siblings; sisters Katrina Williams and partner Bruno Giovannetti, Krista Williams, brothers Bryon and wife Linda Williams, Clayton Williams and partner Barb Chell, Allan Williams, Duncan Williams, Fenton Williams and partner Sandra Boyd, Glynn Williams, nephew Branden Wesa, niece Kristyn Huber and husband Clarke, great nephews Jaydon, Michael and Matthew, great niece Leah, best friend Lorne Stadnyk, pets Penny and Suki, along with cousins and many friends.

Edwin was a true west coast boy. He was born the 6th of 9 children in the fishing village of Alert Bay. He worked for many years in the commercial fishing industry, his first job being a deckhand on the Chief Tapeet. Most of his years were spent on the Miss Andrea and other fishing vessels travelling all up and down the west coast. When he retired from fishing, the ocean remained his passion and he spent many hours on it with friends and family.

After fishing Edwin became part owner and cook for The Old Customs House Restaurant in Alert Bay for many years. He was also a school bus driver and he had a great love for the many kids he drove to and from school.

He was an accomplished harmonica player, a great cook, and a friend to many. Edwin will be forever loved and missed every day. We were truly blessed to have Edwin as a son, brother, uncle and friend. Our love will be with you always.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
