It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of our dearly loved mother, Nedra Frances Williams. She passed away May 28, 2016, at the age of 81, after a brief illness. Her family was with her as she left us on her final journey home.

Nedra is survived by her two children, Frances (Gordon), and Russell (Tina), who will miss her greatly. She also leaves behind 3 grandchildren, Russell, Brady, and Christina, and two great grandchildren, Tyra and Jalen. She also leaves behind a great grandchild who will be born soon. She will also be missed by her brother, Ken (Anne).

Nedra was preceded in death by the love of her life and greatly missed husband, Paul, lovingly known as Willie.

Nedra was born in Ladysmith, BC, on March 28, 1935, and married Paul, July 16, 1954. After a career with the Department of National Defense, Nedra was thrilled to retire with Paul to the Comox Valley, an area that had been home to her as a child, and where her family had roots. Nedra was very proud of her years as a figure skating judge, and of the many beautiful works she knit or cross stitched. After Paul’s death, Nedra moved to Port McNeill to be near her daughter, and then following a stroke, she moved to Eagle Ridge Manor in Port Hardy, where she received the very best of care and made loving friendships.

There will be an interment service July 16, 2016 at 11:00 at the Courtenay Civic Cemetery on Mission Hill, Courtenay. Following the interment, family and friends will gather at Russ’ home for a casual lunch. Arrangements are being handled by Comox Valley Funeral Home.
