Fred Donaldson passed away peacefully in his home at
the age of 62 on Saturday, January 10, 2009. He is
survived by his sons, Fred Donaldson (Cindy), Daniel
Donaldson (Carla), his grandchild on the way in August,
his older brother Ron Donaldson (Kathy), his older sister
Barbara Grubb and many nieces and nephews.
Fred was born on July 7, 1946 in Belleville, Ontario where
he excelled in high school wrestling. He moved to British
Columbia in the mid seventies and settled on North Vancouver Island working at the pulp and paper mill in Port
Alice. Fred loved the outdoors and especially took a great
interest in salmon fishing. He had a strong presence in
the softball community as an umpire, coach, player and
friend. He was also an avid dart and pool player. He will
be sadly missed by many friends and family.

memory of Frederick Allan Donaldson to the BC Cancer
