Gloria Enid McGill peacefully passed away in her sleep on September 10th. Her four children had all been by her side and her loving daughter Helen was holding her hand as she slipped away. She will be missed.
Gloria moved to Port Hardy in 1969 with her husband Alvin and they built their new home at Storey’s Beach. In the years that followed, she taught piano to a countless number of children, worked with her church, spent some time as a home support worker and cared for her family.
Her death was preceded by her loving husband Alvin and oldest grandson Roger. She is survived by her four children, Lance McGill (wife Frances); Lloyd McGill (wife Jackie); Dennis McGill (wife Evelyn) and Helen Steed (husband Douglas) and she is also survived 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on September 19th, 2009 at the Avalon Adventist Academy gym located at 4640 Byng Road at 5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Society of BC or to the Port Hardy Senior Centre Society.
