Nov 22, 1933 - Jun 2, 2018
Our Uncle Holger was born in Resen in Denmark on November 22, 1933. He followed Birthe (his sister) and Bert Jensen (our parents) to Canada in 1967, settling in Port McNeill just as it was being incorporated as a village.

Holger was a large part of our lives growing up, initially living with us, and driving us around in his 1969 Boss Mustang. Holger worked for many years as a carpenter and contractor, helping turn the village into a town, with many now living in the houses he built. After retirement, Holger kept busy with woodworking, tending his garden, making jam, and enjoying a cold beer with his friend Stu Goldsbury and others at the pub.

Holger passed away peacefully at the Port McNeill Hospital at 84 years of age. We want to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the hospital for making his last days comfortable. He will be greatly missed by all of us, including his sisters and family in Denmark, and by his great-nephew Kaj with whom he had a special bond.

Please join us at the Haida Way Pub on July 6 at 4 pm for a celebration of life and to lift a drink to Holger.
