Howard passed away at the Campbell River Hospital on Sept. 5th surrounded by family. He will be remembered fondly by his wife Meg and children, Margie (Ken), Betty-Lou (Ron), Cyndi (Doug), Duncan & Jamie (Shelley).
He leaves his grandchildren Leanna (Brian), Brandi (Greg), Garret, Michael, Katelyn, Jenna, Laci and Lylie and great grandchildren Anthony, Tyanna and Torianne.
Howard was born in Sedgewick, Alberta and is predeceased by parents, Ken and Catherine, brothers: Ross, Grant, Malcolm and Duncan, sister: Annie.
Howard came to BC from Alberta in 1948 to Nimpkish Camp and lived in Beaver Cove and Port McNeill. He retired in 1988 and has become a Port McNeill icon, found down at the harbour visiting and fishing and hanging out having coffee at Port McNeill Auto Body. He belonged to the Seniors bowling group in Port Hardy and the Senior Citizens Club in Port McNeill and accumulated many friends.
A Celebration of Life for Howard will be held on Sept. 17, 2006 at 1:00 pm at the Port McNeill Lions Hall. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Port McNeill Cemetary Fund, Town of Port McNeill.
