1939-2021 ~ It is with deep sorrow that the family of Jack Bennett announces his passing on February 21, 2021. Jack was born in Duncan, B.C. in 1939, eldest child of Raymond and Winnifred Bennett. Jack graduated high school in 1956, married Linnea Good in 1961 and started his family.
He lived the majority of his life on Vancouver Island; building lifelong friendships in Port Hardy and the Nanaimo area. He relocated to Kelowna in 2003. Jack worked many years for B.C. Tel until he took a leap of faith in 1977 to become a "Jack of all trades" which led to his career in construction. In his final years he enjoyed vintage car shows, fishing trips with family, good books and playing poker.
Jack is survived by his son Doug (Colleen), daughters Keri (Tim) and Karla; grandchildren Melanie, Zachary, Brett, Darcy, Zane and Cole and sister Anne (Leo). Jack was predeceased by his parents and brother, Wayne. The measure of a man is in the lives he's touched. Jack lived his life with integrity, his proudest accomplishment was his family for whom he was a constant example of hard work, loyalty, laughter and love.
A celebration of Jack's life will take place at a later date.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to Dr. Eeson and Dr. Gustavsson and the staff at Kelowna General Hospital for the wonderful care Jack received.
