Betts - Janet Anderson Betts (nee Jardine) age 90, passed away in the loving care of the staff at Ward 3x Valleyview, Port Coquitlam. Jenny moved to Port McNeill with her husband Wallace in 1943. Wallace died at Port McNeill in 1987 and Jenny remained in the community in her little red house until the fall of 1999 when she and her dog, Babe, moved to New Westminster to live with her daughter, Louise.
As a girl and young woman Jenny logged with her family at the property at Function Junction in the Whistler area. Jenny and Wallace actively participated in the life of Port McNeill which they saw grow from a logging camp to a municipality.
A celebration of Jenny’s life will be held at the Community Hall at Port McNeill at 11;00 am, Saturday, September 27, 2003 with Rev. Howard Jacques officiating. A time of visiting and refreshment will follow the celebration of Jenny’s life. Jenny is survived by her brother Bob Jardine and wife Stella, daughters Louise and Elizabeth, son Gerry and wife Sharon, son Sam and wife Dorothy and Darrell Allen, her “other kid”, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jenny may be made to the Cancer Society or other charity.
