It is with a heavy heart we announce the sudden passing of Joe Lasota on June 4th, 2019. Joe left us far too soon at the age of 48 and will be greatly missed by so many. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Karla, his beautiful daughters, Kelsey and Kaylee, sister Angela, brothers Raymond(Leslie), Jeff(Gina), 10 neices, a very special great nephew, extended family, and many friends. Joe was predeceased by his parents Ray and Helen Lasota.
Joe was born in Surrey, BC on May 3, 1971. He spent his early years in Kokish, BC and then later moved to Port McNeill where he lived until moving to Courtenay BC in 2004. Joe's passion growing up was playing hockey. He loved to play and always told us how good he was. Joe became a faller soon after graduation. He has worked all over the Island and Mainland in his 29 years as a faller. Joe's greatest love was his family and everyone he crossed paths with, knew that. Joe bursted with pride when he spoke of his precious girls. We will miss his big heart, handsome smile, hilarious sense of humour and infectious laugh.
A Celebration of Life, honouring Joe, will be held July 6th, 2019 at 1 pm at the Native Sons Hall in Courtenay, BC.
If desired, memorial donations to BC Children's Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
