Joyce passed away peacefully during a brief stay at hospital in Alert Bay. She leaves behind her husband of 58 years Neil Langille, her siblings Diane Robertson and Larry MacDonald, three daughters: Donna Langille, Barbara Leslie (David), Denice Streeton (Chris), four grandchildren: Adam Leslie, Stacey Leslie, Amanda Wray, Katrina Hamilton, five great grandchildren: Lindsey and Matthew Cook, Gideon and Cameron Wray, Remy Hamilton, and dearest friend Noel Campbell.

Joyce was born in Pictou N.S. She was a very talented young woman who played the bagpipes, loved to dance, mastered all needle work crafts and would become a very good cook and baker.

She completed her practical nurses training, married, and had three daughters before following her husband to Alert Bay in 1968. Joyce would find employment at the hospital and many close friends in her new community.

Several years later the family would move to Courtenay for the girls schooling, however, when the nest was empty, Joyce would return to Alert Bay and with her husband, build, manage and sell a successful business. Alert Bay was home to Joyce and this is where she would stay until her passing.

Joyce was a tiny woman with a huge heart and an amazing sense of humour.

She will be forever loved and greatly missed by all who knew her.
