In Loving Memory ~
It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of our son, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, friend, Justin Riel Swain. Justin, who was 39 years of age was born on March 15, 1983, at Shoal Lake, Manitoba. He left us unexpectedly, on January 19, 2023.
Justin spent his childhood in Port Hardy and then the last 20 years of his life in Vancouver. For most of his life, he had been a great sketch artist, with very detailed drawings, right from an early age. He then grew to love everything about movies and knew all there was to know about movies; who acted in them, where the movie was made and when it was made, why, and when it came out - everything!
He had over 4,000 movies in his collection. Instead of taking up a career in film-making, which is what he'd gone to school for, he worked in the service industry instead.
Family was very important to him, and he took the loss of his younger brother Robb very hard, especially since it was barely 7 months after his niece Shandelle left this world. And then, mere months ago, his nephew Brendan also passed.
He leaves behind, to mourn his passing, his parents, Bob and Cathy, his siblings, Lisa (Tom), Ravena (Darryl), Roger (Pam), Vanessa (Buddy), Robb (d). Nephews and nieces; Eric, Brendan (d), Thomas, Danika, Robbin, Corey, Quinten, Thomas, Darryl Jr., Brooklynn, Avery, Kendra, Tris, Royce, Tristan, Shandelle (d), Trinity, Sierra, Buddy Jr. Great nephews Lennox and Aziel.
Justin also leaves to mourn, many uncles, aunties, cousins and friends. Justin had many, many friends in Vancouver, including his significant other, Andrew.
Justin was laid to rest on January 29, 2023. We would like to thank each and every person who gave us all the love and support we needed during this sad time.
