April 17, 1941 - April 22, 2025
In loving memory ~
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kay Joan Parker (Joanne), a beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great- Grandmother, Sister-in-law, Cousin, and cherished member of the Port McNeill community.
Born on April 17, 1941, to Anton and Amy Johnson, Joanne grew up surrounded by love, warmth, and a deep appreciation for family. She was predeceased by her Mother, Father, and Brother Don Johnson. She carried their memories with her throughout her life.
On September 1, 1962, Joanne married the love of her life, Bob Parker. Together, they built a beautiful family and a legacy rooted in kindness, generosity, and quiet strength. She is lovingly remembered by her three children, Tracy (Boyd), Danny (Suzy and Holden), and Bill, six grandchildren, Ashley, Tao (Kevin), Amy (Trevor), Alex, Anton, and Abby, and three great- grandchildren, Kaiya, Levi, and Emma, all of whom she adored deeply.
Joanne had a deep love for the outdoors and found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as fishing, camping, swimming, and daily walks, especially when shared with her grandchildren. She was happiest with a coffee in hand, surrounded by nature, or cheering on her family with pride.
A proud resident of Port McNeill, Joanne gave so much to the community she loved. She was actively involved in local initiatives, including hospice care, the Happy Gang, and a reading program at the local school, helping to inspire the same love of books she passed on to her family.
As family was so important to Joanne, she remained close to them, including Cousins Cookie, Marjorie (predeceased), Hank, and Delores and all of Bob's siblings and their families. Treasuring the bonds of extended family.
To know Joanne was to know selflessness, quiet strength, and unconditional love. She never asked for much, but always gave everything she had to those around her. Her legacy lives on in every story shared, every child she inspired to read, and every walk taken through the town she called home.
She is now reunited with her beloved husband, family, and friends who went before her. She is finally at rest.
She will be missed beyond words and remembered with endless love.
And when we face life's little questions or spontaneous adventures, we'll hear her voice gently reminding us: "I don't see why not"
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Details will be shared with family and friends once arrangements are finalized.
