It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kerry Douglas Nickerson. After a lengthy battle with illness, he died peacefully at Vancouver General Hospital on May 30th 2021.
Kerry was born in Spokane, Washington on October 30th 1959. He moved to Canada at the age of two and eventually settled in Port Hardy in 1963. While growing up in Port Hardy, Kerry was a Cub, Scout and drummer in Sea Cadets.
He loved fishing, camping and gold mining. He had a great sense of humor, was artistic and had a genuine fondness of all animals. His family and friends meant the world to him and he would not hesitate to help anyone in need.
Kerry is survived by his daughters Soshana (Ryan) and Tialynn (Kyle), His six grandchildren Brady, Scott, Ethan, Jorja, Brynn and Taylor, his mother Helen Louise Nickerson, his siblings Janet Malnis (Gary), Teresa Klassen (Al), Rocky Nickerson (Sandi), Donald Nickerson (Anita), Shelly Wilcox (Craig) and Gail Nickerson (Cam).
He was predeceased by his father, Royce Douglas Nickerson and his brother Douglas Kenneth Nickerson.
There will be a Celebration of Life on August 14th 2021 in Enderby BC – Please contact the family for details. Interment to follow later in Port Hardy, BC.
