Knud was born on June 3, 1924 in Bornholm, Denmark and passed away peacefully on December 27, 2005 at Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, BC. Predeceased by Elsie, his loving wife of 48 years. Knud is survived by family in Denmark and his many friends who became his “family” in Port Hardy. Knud owned and operated Port Hardy Building Supply Ltd. from 1960 until retirement in January 1993. Many thanks to Knud’s friends, the doctors (both in Victoria and Port Hardy) as well as the staff at the Port Hardy Medical Clinic for their care and compassion. A memorial service will be held at St. Columba’s United - Anglican Church in Port Hardy at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 21, 2006. Refreshments to follow. In lieu of flowers donations in Knud’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC and Yukon. It takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them, but an entire life to forget them. Together once again with his love Elsie.
