Arenburg, Laurie Stuart Senior: September 2-1932 to August 10-2011, Laurie sadly lost his battle with cancer and passed peacefully at Port Hardy Hospital early August 10. Now with his parents Joseph and Grace, Predeceased, his wife Thelma G Arenburg (Levac); leaving behind brother Vernon, sister Gail, children Diane (Grant), Gilbert, Francis, John (Dee), Verna, Robert (Rosa), Tim (Meena), Laurie-Anne (Perry), Laurie J (Laura), Cheryl (TJ), 35 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren, and many friends. Laurie was born in Kennetcook, Nova Scotia: in his life he traveled all over Canada doing different exciting jobs; like a technician or machinist for air craft. Laurie’s final career choice was a valconizer for the mine, were he came to settle with his family in Port Hardy 1972. He had a love for fishing, listening to Country music and the ability to fix almost anything. You could often find Laurie sitting on his porch with his truck tail gate down, fixing some item someone had brought him to save. He still tried to fix things even with his own health failing. There is one other family member that has not been mentioned, His Adopted daughter Charmaine, she is one of the family and we all thank her with all our hearts; as she is the one that was there for Laurie when we were not able to be. Char had written a note about her friend and posted it on Facebook. It is attached for all to see. Char has summed up Laurie, better than the rest of us ever could. You will be missed Brother, Father, Grand Father, and Friend. All our Love.

Gaelic Blessing

May the road rise up to meet you.

May the wind always be at your back.

May the sun shine warm on your face;

The rains fall soft on your fields, and until we meet again

May God hold you in the palm of his hand.
