Born in Rathwell, Manitoba, Lyle served in the army and drove truck in Winnipeg. In 1961 he met Audrey and married in 1962, 1967 moved his family to Port Alice. He joined the Legion and was made a life member.

He served as Deputy Fire Chief for many years in the PAVFD. Lyle worked in the pulp mill, at Jeune Landing, drove for DeRycke and Public Freightway, worked at the arena and public works in Port Alice. He had a small skate sharpening business.

Lyle is survived by wife of 46 years, Audrey, daughter Roxanna, son Rodney, grandchildren, Trevor, Abigail, Russel, Neil, Ryan and Crystal.Great grandchildren Austin, Logan and Christian. His mother-in-law Cassie, brother Cyril, sisters, Shirley and Eileen, nephews, nieces, cousins and Spunky.

All those who adopted him as their Port Alice Dad.

Lyle will be missed by many people.
