Marie Louise Harlock (Reusse)

February 2, 2007

It is with heavy hearts we announce that Marie Louise Harlock (Reusse) died peacefully on February 2, 2007 at “The Gardens” in Qualicum Beach. She was pre-deceased by her first husband Helmut G. W. Reusse (1983) and her second husband Richard P. Harlock (2001). She is survived by sons Manfred (Linda) Reusse and Jens (Chris) Reusse; grandchildren Danette (Charlie), Wes (Brenda), Cheryl, Anne (Chad), Jenni and Jill; great-grandchildren Darlene, Danielle, Sammy, Macey, Jessika and Hailey; great great-grandchild Jade; brother-in-law Ian Harlock and stepdaughters Sharon and Lynn.

Marie Louise came to Canada from Germany in 1957 and spent most of her working life in the Martin Inn Hotel in Ocean Falls. She retired in 1980 and moved to Parksville. She moved to Port McNeill in 2003 and lived there with son, Jens, until 2005. She then moved to Qualicum where she lived for her remaining years.

During her life, Marie Louise was an avid bowler, gifted weaver, an ardent grower of flowers (especially African violets) and most importantly a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

A memorial service to honor Louise’s life will be held in late July.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Glaucoma Research Foundation in Louise’s memory would be appreciated. Donations can be made at http://www.glaucoma.org/help/donate.php or by calling (800) 826-6693.
