With heartfelt sorrow, we announce the passing of our cherished mother, Patricia Lorine Walsh (nee Best), who left us peacefully on February 12, 2025, at the age of 78. Pat passed away in the early morning hours at Chartwell Nursing Home in Nanaimo, BC, surrounded by the compassionate care of the nursing staff.
Pat was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ronald Walsh of Port Hardy, BC, and her parents, Richard and Nellie Best of Gander, Newfoundland.
She is survived by her four children: Richard (wife Jana) of Sturgeon County, Alberta; Cheryl of Campbell River, BC; Rob of Nanaimo, BC; and Kevin (wife Sharon) of Ladysmith, BC. Pat was a proud and loving grandmother to her eight grandchildren: Matthew, Rebecca, Shayla (Arlo), Willow (Daryn), Kylie, Bailey, Amy(Davin) Travis(McKenna).
Her legacy will continue through her great-granddaughters Elise, Leni, and Marlow, and great-grandsons Reid and Dustyn.
Pat's warmth, kindness, and deep love for her family and friends made her a beloved presence in the lives of many, especially in Port Hardy, where she touched the hearts of all who knew her.
We extend our gratitude to the care aides at Chartwell Nursing Home for their kindness and dedication in making her final days as comfortable as possible.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Pat's memory to the Alzheimer Society of British Columbia.
